Casa Boa
Esperanca is in a small rural hamlet just a 2 minute drive from the
historical town of Silves (at one time the capital of the Algarve) and more
particularly from the Modelo supermarket. It is also a mere 10/15 minutes from
the coast and around the same to some of the many excellent golf courses here
on the Algarve. All this makes the cottage ideal for golfers and also for families on a budget. The cottage itself comprises two bedrooms, living room and kitchen/diner. The front door opens into the kitchen/diner. This room is the length of the cottage with the kitchen at the far end leading out to the rear patio, bbq and pool areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave, washing machine, iron and ironing board. The dining area has dining table and 6 chairs, a fold-up bed for a 5th person, and there is a toilet in to the right of the front door. The first bedroom leads off the left of the front door in the dining area. This has twin beds and an adjoining shower. To the left again nearer the kitchen area, and up two steps, is the living room. Here we find a comfortable sofa, TV, video, hi fi with CD and cassette player, and a wood burning stove for those colder winter evenings. Leading from here is the second bedroom with twin beds and a full ensuite bathroom. Patio doors lead from here to the rear of the cottage. The pool is 1.5 metres deep and 3 metres in diameter and is ideal for relaxing in on those hot summer days and evenings. It has an integral seat around part of the pool - just right for sitting in the pool with a drink in your hand! Loungers are around the pool, as well as an outside table and bench chairs under the covered area by the second bedroom. A couple of steps take us down to the lower patio where there is another table and chairs by the side of the barbecue. From the pool and patio there is a lovely view across the countryside, with chickens roaming the field below the patio wall - don't throw your cabbage leaves in the bin, feed the friendly fowl! This is a great cottage which is well situated for just about everything you could want for your holiday - or even for a longer time over the winter. Silves has a host of shops and supermarkets (particularly Lidl and Modelo) and some really great cuisine is available at the large number of restaurants and cafes here as well as international cuisine as can be found at the Cafe Ingles - this has live music most weekends! Horse riding is available 10 minutes away; there are mountain bike trails in the area around the cottage; scuba diving is available down at Carvoeiro; a canoeing centre is between the cottage and Silves; thermal baths are available at Monchique (20 minutes); and there are a range of children's parks - Krazy World, Zoomarine, Slide n' Splash and Aqualand being the main and more popular venues. On the other hand you can of course sit around your own pool and relax - and we can even arrange a massage or beauty treatment lady to come to you at the cottage! |
